Panel Air Filters are critical barriers in a locomotive's intake system. Designed for high-performance GE and EMD engines (such as GE 7FDL/Evolution and EMD 645/710 series), they filter out dust, particulates, and contaminants before air enters the combustion chamber or the locomotive carbody.
Carbody/Primary Filters: Typically mounted on the sidewalls of the locomotive to provide initial filtration of ambient air.
